11. Precision Balancing

Most persons who attend have a very limited knowledge of balancing and have done very little field balancing themselves. Some may even have considerable Data Collection and/or Vibration Analysis experience. This course was designed to provide a comprehensive look at Balancing concepts and Correction methods. The Òhands-onÓ approach to this course builds confidence in the analyst. This confidence will grow by practicing the triggering, diagramming, and application of weights on multiple motor demonstrator units. The hands-on applications are designed to simulate a balancing experience in the field, not on a static balancing machine in the shop. This course is designed for the novice or veteran Level I or Level II analyst that wishes to add field balancing capability to their PdM programs.

This course was designed by Full Spectrum Diagnostics to ÒmeetÓ or ÒexceedÓ the minimum requirements of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Vibration Analysis method outlined in ASNT SNT-TC-1A Recommended Practice and the minimum requirements of the International Standards Organization (ISO) Specification Document ISO 18436-1 and ISO18436-2 with respect to course content, instruction hours, and examination format.
